American AAdvantage Lifetime Status Rule Change

American announced new rules for obtaining gold and platinum lifetime status. In summary, you have until December 1st for your credit card miles to count toward your million mile hurdles with the exception of their Executive card ($450 annual fee). The good news is that your prior lifetime miles still count, so if you are at 999,900 miles on December 2nd, you will get gold status after you next leg.
